Important
Dental Athlete is available through Authorized Dental Athlete Providers only. You can download Dental Athlete from the Apple App Store for free, but you must obtain a Patient Activation Code from your dentist in order to use the app and its features.

Sound
Cannot hear the hum or the hum is only playing in one ear
- Set the Hum On switch to On.
- Make sure your iPhone/iPad volume level is at an audible level.
Cannot hear the background noise
- Set the Noise On switch to On.
- Select one or more noise colors.
- Make sure the volume of the selected noise color is at an audible level.
- Make sure your iPhone/iPad volume level is at an audible level.
Cannot hear the guided meditation
- Set the Guide On switch to On.
- Make sure the Guide volume is at an audible level.
- Make sure your iPhone/iPad volume level is at an audible level.
Sound does not play in the background
- Tap the Play button to start the audio.
- When playing any of the audio, you must close the Dental Athlete app while on either Dental Calm or Dental Night Guard in order for the audio to continue playing in the background.
- If you leave Dental Calm or Dental Night Guard, the audio will stop playing.
- Also, check if you set a timer. If a timer is set, the audio will play and then stop after the session time has expired.
Reminders, Medals, and Awards
Medals/awards disappeared
- Medals and awards will disappear if you miss one or more of your daily brushing and flossing goals.
- When you achieve a Marathon, your monthly medals and awards will reset to zero, but you will receive a Marathon award for every Marathon you achieve.
Change/remove a reminder
- From the Main Menu tap the Settings icon (gears).
- From the Settings Menu tap Set Reminders and Goals.
- Select which reminder you want to change or remove.
- To remove the reminder, tap Remove Reminder from the pop up.
- To change the reminder, set the desired reminder time and tap Set Reminder from the pop up.
- To leave the reminders as-is, tap Dismiss from the pop up.
Patient Activation Code
Invalid code
- If you receive an “invalid code” warning, it means the code you entered is not recognized by the Dental Athlete system.
- Valid Patient Activation Codes can only be used once.
- Contact your Authorized Dental Athlete Provider for a valid Patient Activation Code.

Code is already used
- If you receive a warning that the code you entered is “used”, it means the code has already be registered with the Dental Athlete system.
- Valid Patient Activation Codes can only be used once.
- Contact your Authorized Dental Athlete Provider for additional Patient Activation Codes.

Deactivating/changing dentists
- If your Dental Athlete app has been activated with a valid Patient Activation Code and you want to switch to a new dentist, you must deactivate your current Patient Activation Code before entering your new dentist’s code.
- Before you deactivate the Dental Athlete app, make sure you have a valid replacement Patient Activation Code.
- If you do not have a replacement Patient Activation Code, do not deactivate the app.
- If your new dentist does not have a Patient Activation Code contact us at mydentist@dentalathlete.com or click here: I NEED A PATIENT ACTIVATION CODE
- You cannot reactivate a deactivated Patient Activation Code.
- To reactivate the app, you must enter a new Patient Activation Code. This is why it is important to have a new Patient Activation Code before you deactivate your old code.
- To deactivate your current Patient Activation Code, tap the settings icon (gears) from the Main Menu.
- From the Settings menu, tap Deactivate this App.
- You can keep a copy of your current Patient Activation Code by either emailing it to yourself (tap “Email the Activation Code”) or by copying the code (tap on your current Patient Activation Code, select all, copy, then paste into your notepad or other app where you can retain the code).
- When you are sure you want to deactivate the current code, tap on “DEACTIVATE THIS APP”. A pop-up will ask you if you are sure you want to deactivate the app. If you are sure, tap “Deactivate It”, otherwise tap “Cancel”.
